Frascati - Villa Falconieri

The most ancient of all Tuscolanian villas referring to all Roman Castles Towns, is today part of CEDE (European Centre of Education); It looked like a castle with four towers at each corner, but was changed later in the seventeenth century by Borromini. It was damaged by the many bombs that destroyed Frascati during the Second World War and was later rebuild accurately to its original magnificient architectural plan. There are many paintings inside as well as the famous lake park, mainly a romantic squared pond circled by cypress trees that made it dark and a common place for suicide for lovers.
