Frascati and ZTL: everything you need to know.
As is now usual anywhere in the world, wherever there are historical beauties to be preserved, the ZTL – Limited Traffic Zone - has arrived in the center of Frascati for some years.
Frascati has always been one of the most beautiful and vital locations of the Castelli Romani and the Roman countryside, and the pride of the town, has always been its historic center populated by food and wine business, inns, fraschette (typical Frascati’s inns), traditional and non-traditional restaurants, bars, pubs, everything and more.
In particular, what attracts thousands of visitors every year to the town center is an extraordinary winemaking tradition, with a white Frascati DOCG wine, known throughout the world, and traditional Roman cuisine, which Frascati has inherited the crown in recent decades .
It was inevitable that, sooner or later, the ZTL would arrive here too. Torment for some, delight for others, it's a real bugbear for some, but don't worry: we're here to give you all the information you need.
YOU CAN QUIETLY ENTER AND EXIT THE HISTORICAL CENTER (ZTL) IF YOU ARE A HOTEL CUSTOMER
This is basically the only question you are asking yourself and for this reason we take the question head on and use it as a starting point. ARE YOU A CUSTOMER OF OUR HOTEL? Then you can easily access the center of Frascati by car, whenever you want, throughout your stay, from arrival to departure.
ARE YOU JUST A COMPANION?
Don't worry, as long as you are accompanying one of our guests, whether you are a private individual, or you are a private transport professional, you can access without worries.
But let's go in order...
The ZTL is not always active. This is activated by the municipality on weekdays from 20:00 until 05:00 the following day; on Saturdays and all days before holidays before holidays and Saturdays, from 19:00 to the following midnight; to restart from 00.00 on Sundays and holidays and finally, the ZTL is active on holidays and Sundays, crossing the whole hourly day, until it reaches 05:00 the following morning.
Consequently, outside this range, accessing by car or other vehicle is allowed to everyone, while within the range, it is only allowed to residents, those who have been granted special access, and guests of accommodation facilities, as you are. Don't worry, enter by car and enjoy the possibility of crossing the center of Frascati and.. finding parking! Otherwise take advantage of the hotel's parking spaces and garages That’s an incontrovertible consequence of the beginning of the ZTL: the possibility of finding a parking space, a few steps from the structure, given the much smaller number of vehicles, which cross the area when the cameras are switched on.
PRACTICALLY..
Practically, upon your arrival in Frascati by car, sooner or later you will find yourself in front of one of the ZTL gates with its camera. Take courage and cross over. Probably, if you are coming to us, you will find yourself passing through via Vincenzo del Grande. Follow the road up to the crossroads, turn right, follow the obligatory path up to Piazza San Pietro, keep all the way to the left with respect to the cathedral, continue up to the fountain, turn left again, and you will see our hotel, in all its majesty. At that point you have two options left, parking with us, if the parking space is part of your offer, or unloading your luggage and parking in one of the blue spaces (€1.50 per hour) which start from Piazza del Gesù and go beyond our hotel. As we said previously, in the event of an active ZTL, there will be very few vehicles moving across in the center of Frascati, and consequently, it will be much easier to find a place a stone's throw from our structure.
REGISTRATION DOCUMENT
Upon your arrival we will take the data from the vehicle registration document. There is no hurry, we take the data, and send a report to the municipal police station, the important thing is to do it before your departure, so as to avoid any problems.
Therefore, VERY IMPORTANT, whether or not you park your car with us, let us view the registration document and collect the vehicle data. For any doubts or more info on the ZTL, do not hesitate to contact us.
Below you will find the approximante time table for the activation of the ZTL, Limited Traffic Zone. The schedule is subject to change throughout the season, if in doubt, contact the hotel.
ZTL ACTIVATION SCHEDULE:
from Monday to Friday, from 20:00 to 5:00 the following day; Saturday and eve of holidays from 19:00 to 00:00. Sundays and holidays from 00:00 to 05:00 the following day. We assume no responsibility for the publication of these times.
THE HOTEL HAS A GARAGE, PARKING SPACES, ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATION. CLARIFICATION FOR THE
ACCOMPANYING GUESTS:
for our guests' companions we mean simple private companions, relatives, etc., as well as private transport professionals such as TAXI, NCC, etc.
Everyone will be able to access the ZTL and it will be their concern to provide us with the vehicle registration document so that we can communicate the vehicle data to the municipal police.
