Frascati Carnival is back - 28 January - 13 February

The Frascati Carnival returns from 28 January to 13 February 2024.

Frascati Carnival is back, a must for every self-respecting Frascatano (citizens of Frascati), and an event well known at a national level, for the commitment, participation and funds, which are put forward every year for this highly anticipated celebration.

Inevitable and inimitable for the inhabitants of the Pearl of the Castles is the "Pulcinellata": there is no true Frascatano who does not take part in the parade of hundreds and hundreds (thousands) of citizens dressed as Pulcinella, the famous mask and character from the commedia dell'Arte; parade that passes through the streets of the town every year in February, in a river of whistles, colors and confetti.

The celebrations officially start on January 28th with the traditional handing over of city keys to the king of the Carnival, known as "King Pupone" and on February 4th the first parade of groups of masks, startes from Piazza delle Scuole Pie.

Thursday 08 (Fat Thursday) the party starts 3pm in Piazza San Pietro, followed by DJ set ; Sunday 11th another masked parade, and Tuesday 13th (Fat Tuesday), the final parade with the highly anticipated Pulcinella's Funeral, where a giant representation of the mask is set on fire followed by a great fireworks display.

The great novelty of the Frascati Carnival 2024 is the Competition for the best Masked Group, whose winners will be crowned shortly before the Funeral Procession and will win a prize of €1000.

It will be an edition surrounded by music, with the performance of Self Portrait Blues opening the celebrations and the Ufo Rock Band closing them; as well as the DJ set that will accompany the Fat Thursday party.

For the event, food stands will be organized and a Ferris Wheel will be set up in Piazza Marconi. The Frascati Carnival 2024 is organized by the Artepassione APS Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Frascati.
